Skerro

Privacy policy

Last updated: October 15, 2026

Skerro asks you to paste your own study notes, so this page is deliberately short and specific: what we store, what we never do with it, and how to take it back.

  • Your notes have one job: generating your missions. They are never sold, never shared for advertising, and never used to train AI models.
  • You hold the keys: export everything or permanently delete your account, each in one click from Settings, no email required.
  • No trackers: no ad pixels and no marketing cookies. We count visits with Vercel Web Analytics, which uses no cookies and doesn't identify you. The only cookies are the ones that keep you signed in.

What we store

Everything below lives in your account and nowhere else:

  • Account details. Your name and email address. Passwords are handled by Supabase, our authentication provider; we never see them. If you sign in with Google, we receive only your name, email, profile picture link, and Google account ID (details below).
  • Study material. The notes you paste, the goals you type, and the files you upload (PDFs, photos, text). This is the material your missions are built from.
  • Generated content. The missions, plans, quick checks, and chapter reports the AI creates for you.
  • Progress. Which missions you finished and when, your XP, streaks, and the answers you give to quizzes and written checks.
  • Usage events. Six small records tied to your account, so we can see whether Skerro is working for people: the days you open it, whether each quick check answer was right (a code for the question, never its text), how long creating a chapter took, whether you opened the “Why this mission?” panel on a mission, which missions you have been shown (once each, by an internal id, never the mission’s text), and when Skerro wrote your review questions ahead of time (the day and how many requests it took, never the questions). They are included in your export and deleted with your account.
  • Preferences. Your timezone, reminder settings, and (only if you turn reminders on) a push notification subscription for your browser.

If you sign in with Google

Skerro asks Google for the basic profile scopes only: openid, email, and profile. It never asks for access to your Gmail, Drive, Calendar, contacts, or anything else in your Google account.

  • What we receive. Your name, your email address, and your profile picture (as a link), plus the Google account ID that identifies the sign-in.
  • What we use it for. To create and recognize your Skerro account, to greet you by name, and to show which sign-in method you use. Nothing else.
  • How we store it. In your account in Supabase, our authentication provider, alongside the rest of your data. We keep only the picture link, not a copy of the image.
  • Who sees it. No one but you and the services that run Skerro. We don't sell this data, share it with advertisers, or pass it to anyone else.

You can export it or erase it with the rest of your account from Settings. You can also remove Skerro's access any time in your Google account permissions. Skerro's use of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

How the AI part works

When you create a chapter, your material is sent to Claude, the AI model built by Anthropic, to be read and turned into missions. That happens over Anthropic's commercial API, and Anthropic does not use data sent through that API to train its models. Your notes go in, your missions come out, and that is the whole transaction.

What we never do

  • We never sell your data or share it with advertisers. There are no ads.
  • We never use your notes or answers to train AI models, ours or anyone else's.
  • We never read your notes ourselves except when you ask us to look at a problem.
  • We run no ad or tracking scripts. Our one analytics script counts visits anonymously, without cookies.

Where your data lives

Skerro runs on three services, each holding only what its job requires: Supabase (accounts and database), Vercel (app hosting), and Anthropic (AI processing, described above). Like almost every website, our host keeps standard server logs (such as IP address and request time) for a short period for security and reliability.

Your controls

  • Export. Settings → Export downloads everything we hold about you as a single file, instantly.
  • Delete. Settings → Delete account permanently erases your account and every note, mission, answer, and stat attached to it, immediately. There is no grace period copy kept around.
  • Reminders. Push reminders are off by default and can be switched off any time in Settings or in your browser.

Both controls work without contacting anyone, which we think is how data rights should work.

How long we keep it

For as long as you keep your account, so your progress is there when you come back. The one exception is a finished chapter's source material, which we delete 30 days after you finish the chapter; its missions, answers, and report stay. Delete the account and the data goes with it, right away.

Children

Skerro is not directed at children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, delete it from Settings or ask us to.

A note on other people's data

Paste your own study material. Please don't upload documents containing other people's personal information; Skerro doesn't need it to help you study.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll update this page and the date at the top before the change takes effect.

Contact

Skerro is built by one student, and questions about this policy or your data go straight to them at hello@skerro.com. You don't need to write to use your rights, though: export, deletion, and reminders all work self service from your dashboard, instantly, with nobody in the loop.
